Comm 1010 - Elements of Effective Communication
In this class, I learned how to effectively communicate. I learned the basics of how to conduct yourself with conversations within business relations, personal relationships, etc.
One of the first projects we did was to choose a topic we were passionate about, and do a 4-7 minute speech on it. I chose gun rights as my topic. While a controversial topic, I presented it in a way that I received a lot of applause when I finished, especially from a man who happens to be a corrections officer at the prison in Draper. Luckily I have always been decent at talks or speeches and this assignment helped me to be so much better now. I enjoy speaking in front of people, especially when I am passionate about the topic I present.
